Cuogaocun

Cuogao Village is located at the northeastern end of the “Basongcuo” Lake in Linzhi, Tibet. It is backed by the majestic and steep snow-capped mountains – “Burning Flame”, and faces the warm water of the “Basongcuo” Lake. Snow pigeon wetlands slowly spread from the village to the lake. Basongcuo Cuogao Village is the only village in the Gongbu area that completely maintains the traditional village layout, residential architectural style, customs, culture and beliefs of the Gongbu Tibetan people. The dwellings here follow the traditional construction method of the Gongbu Tibetan people, using wood and stone according to local conditions. Firewood is stacked on the stone walls, and the spacious courtyards can be used for both forage and livestock. The winding alleys meander between the courtyard walls, leading to Mani Lakang, Mani stone piles and prayer flag pillars scattered throughout the village, strung together with the footprints of villagers praying for blessings, turning prayers and worshipping. These religious sites, the surrounding snow-capped mountains, sacred lakes, and ancient myths handed down by the villagers from generation to generation constitute a rich spiritual world for Tibetans in the Ministry of Industry, and the fertile pastures and wetlands provide them with enough living space to rely on. Cuogao Village is thus safely embedded in the snow-capped mountains and green waters, continuing the ancient history of Gongbu Tibetans.
