Hongfu Temple

Hongfu Temple is located on Qianling Mountain in Guiyang. It was built in 1672. It is a famous Buddhist temple in Guiyang and is known as “the first temple in Guizhou”. In Hongfu Temple, there are ancient relics such as Mo rock carvings, ancient Buddha caves visited by Xu Xiake, and the pagoda of elders of all dynasties. The temple itself is known for its effectiveness in praying for blessings, so the incense is very strong. Hongfu Temple was built in the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty and was founded by monk Chisong. The whole temple is located in the center of the peaks of Qianling Mountain. Although Hongfu Temple is not big, the layout of the temple is rigorous and the building is majestic. There are many ancient relics in the temple, including the nine-curved path opened by the monk Chisong and the rock carvings, the ancient Buddha cave, and the elders of the past dynasties. In the bell tower of the temple, there is a bronze bell weighing more than 3,000 catties, which was cast in the fifth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1469). There are also many poems, paintings and inscriptions of ancient and modern famous people in the temple. There are “Hongfu Temple”, “Namo Amitabha Buddha” on the Dashan Gate, and “the first mountain in southern Guizhou”. There are also Monument of Akamatsu Monk and Poetry Monument Gallery in the temple.
