Qiao Street

Qiao Street, also known as Dongmen Street, features well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architectural complexes and is a Long March historical and cultural street in Liping County. The site of the Liping Conference, the Central Red Army Instructor Corps, the Central Red Army Cadre Recuperation Company, the former residences of Li De, Bo Gu, and Kai Feng, and the site of the Red Army mass meeting are all located within the Ming and Qing dynasty architectural complexes of Qiao Street. The street starts from the East Gate of the city wall in the east and extends south to the Lotus Pond at Erlangpo, with a total length of nearly 1 km. It is high at both ends and low in the middle, resembling a raised wooden carrying pole, hence the name “Qiao Street”. The street is paved with stone slabs and pebbles, with numerous small streets and alleys, such as Majia Lane, Yaojia Lane, Zhangjia Lane, Shuangjing Street, and Zuosuopo, which are all very famous. It is antique and full of local character.
