Daying River runs through Tengchong from north to south and encounters the huge fault cliff when flowing through the west of Tengchong County. The water falls from the 46-meter (151-foot) cliff to the deep pool, and the water seems to be folded in two. The Dieshuihe Waterfall was named after this. Above the waterfall stand three peaks. Between the peaks is a stone bridge stretching across the river, called Taiji Bridge, built during the period of the Warlord Era. Beside the bridge is a stone pavilion engraved with the characters “Guan Pu” (Viewing the Waterfall) on the plaque, hence the name, Guan Pu Pavilion.
