Huangge Ancient Path

Huangge Ancient Road is a well-known ancient road in Chongqing with an 800-year history. It was once a vital route for merchants from Sichuan and Guizhou, and was known as Chongqing’s “Silk Road.” Originating in the Tang Dynasty, it flourished during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, and was one of the Twelve Scenic Spots of Chongqing. Until the mid-1970s, this ancient road remained a major transportation route. In the late 1980s, it ceased to be a bustling thoroughfare. After a few years of relative quiet, the ancient road has once again become popular, with its towering trees attracting many middle-aged and elderly people for exercise.
