Longtan Ancient Town

The ancient town of Longtan, more than 30 kilometers east of Youyang County, was founded in the first year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1736) and was established as a town in 1935. With the convenience of Longtan River and Youshui River, it used to be an important commercial market town, and there is a saying that “Longtan goods and Gongtan money”. During the Anti-Japanese War, Longtan Ancient Town became the rear of the war, and 80,000 people gathered in the 1.5-square-kilometer town, making Longtan Ancient Town famous all over the country and known as “Little Nanjing”. Famous ancient buildings include Yuwang Palace and Wanshou Palace.
