Wawu Mountain, in southwestern Hongya County, is the birthplace of Taoism. Wawu Mountain has many plants and animals, including many kinds of national Grade I-protected flora and fauna. This is a great destination for mountain adventures and leisurely sightseeing. Wawu Mountain has retained its rudimentary ecology, and thus has a low degree of commercialism. Visitors here can enjoy a variety of outdoor sports. When taking a leisurely walk along the trails, visitors may come across various protected animals such as antelopes, black pheasants and Chinese monals. This place is full of many wonderful natural surprizes.
