Peacock Princess Grand Theater

The Xishuangbanna Peacock Princess Grand Theater (formerly the Dai Show Theater) was designed by Mr. Mark Fisher himself, who tailored this modern technology theater for Xishuangbanna.The double-layer folding dome design is based on the golden bamboo hat in traditional Dai culture. The folding sloping roof design is inspired by the artistic and creative expression of the geometric shape of palm leaves, and at the same time echoes the folding sloping roof style of local Dai architecture. The roof structure of the hall incorporates tubular elements, which is a modern interpretation of the material of traditional Dai bamboo buildings, and a perfect fusion of art and culture. It cost more than 2 billion yuan and covers an area of 3.64 hectares.The overall design of the building follows the principle of “people-oriented”, advocates the concepts of green buildings, ecological buildings and energy-saving buildings, highlights intelligence, humanity, individuality, freedom, efficiency, pursues optimized economic design, and enhances the market competitiveness and artistic appeal of the building. This also makes the Dai Show Theater a landmark building in Xishuangbanna.
