Qiongmugangga Snow Mountain is located in Majiang Township, Nyemo County, Lhasa City. Its main peak reaches an altitude of approximately 7048 meters, making it a high peak at the southern end of the Nyainqêntanglha Mountains.Qiongmugangga means “learned fairy” or “goddess of wisdom” in Tibetan. The mountain is majestic and imposing, featuring typical glacial landforms such as horns, arêtes, and cirques. At its foot lies a glacial lake at an altitude of approximately 5300 meters. From about December to April each year, it enters its “golden period of blue ice,” with the ice layer reaching several meters thick, displaying a deep and dreamlike blue color that contrasts beautifully with the snow-capped peaks. In summer, the lake also displays a spectacular display of changing colors.This is not only a dream destination for mountaineering enthusiasts but also a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. It is about 160 kilometers from Lhasa. On this tranquil plateau, one can also encounter wild animals such as Tibetan gazelles and blue sheep, experiencing the pure beauty of the snowy plateau.
