Wanfeng Lake Cruise
The Wanfeng Lake Cruise is a “waterborne karst feast” nestled at the junction of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi provinces. Spanning over 200 square km of pristine waters—China’s largest artificial lake in the southwest—it combines breathtaking lake-and-mountain scenery with the unique appeal of “visiting three provinces in a 1-day tour,” making it an essential experience for unlocking the secrets of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. With water clarity exceeding 2 meters and a surface area equivalent to 2 Erhai Lakes or 17 Hongfeng Lakes, this alpine lake offers poetic moments of “gliding through painted landscapes” while revealing traces of geological evolution spanning hundreds of millions of years. From family outings to photography enthusiasts, every visitor leaves with unforgettable mountain-and-water memories. The cruise route design connects the most spectacular views of Wanfeng Lake’s core area, with different paths and durations to suit diverse requests. The classic route departs from the tourist pier, passing iconic attractions like Hongchun Waterborne Stone Forest, Little Three Gorges, and Gilong Castle in sequence. The 90–100 min journey unfolds like flipping through a 3D karst landscape album: Hongchun Waterborne Stone Forest features scattered conical peaks and jagged rock walls carved by ancient seawater, where travelers often spot fish darting through crystal-clear waters; Little Three Gorges presents sheer cliffs as if split by blades, with mountain breezes carrying earthy fragrances while the sounds of water and birdsong fill the air; Gilong Castle’s European Gothic architecture contrasts poetically with emerald hills at the lake’s center, creating a photogenic hotspot where many visitors request slower speeds to capture this “castle-meets-landscape” romance. Some routes also dock at Hongchun Pier, allowing travelers brief shore excursions to experience lakeside village life, blending “waterborne sightseeing + land exploration” into one seamless adventure. The diverse selection of boat types and onboard services enhances the quality of your cruise experience. The attraction offers various vessels including luxury cruises and painted pleasure boats, featuring spacious and comfortable interiors. Some boats even have observation decks for visitors to pause and take photos at any time. The distinction between speedboats and slow boats caters to different pacing preferences—speedboats prioritize efficient sightseeing for time-conscious travelers, while slow boats are ideal for leisurely relaxation, allowing guests to quietly admire the shimmering sunlight dancing on the lake’s surface. Onboard staff provide insightful guides about the geological origins and folklore of scenic spots along the route, such as the formation of Hongchun Stone Forest or the history behind Jilong Castle, making the cultural significance behind these landscapes more accessible. During festive seasons, visitors can enjoy special activities like the “Explore Wanfeng Lake” event, featuring aquatic performances and even cross-province cultural experiences, adding a touch of humanistic warmth to the natural journey.Beyond the core sightseeing experience, the cruise can be combined with diverse activities to create a complete vacation setting. Thrill-seeking travelers can enjoy water sports like jet skiing, sailing boats, and kayaking for an adrenaline rush. Families with kids will love pairing the cruise with a visit to the Xingyi UNESCO Global Geopark Museum—discover the ancient history of these waters through Guizhou dinosaur fossils before boarding, then compare geological knowledge with real-life scenery during the cruise for immersive “scientific exploration + sightseeing.” Photography enthusiasts especially favor evening departure time slots when the soft light creates perfect conditions—capture symmetrical reflections of Gilong Castle from the stern or use a drone to photograph the emerald wake trails for stunning shots. After the cruise, whether you check in at Gilong Castle Resort or savor fresh lake delicacies at nearby farmhouse restaurants, the joy of nature seamlessly blends into everyday life. From the morning mist to the shifting light of dusk, the charm of the Wanfeng Lake Cruise transforms with time. Boarding in the early morning reveals mountains faintly visible through the mist, like an ink-wash painting. At noon, sunlight reflects directly on the water, creating crystal-clear mirrored images of the peaks. As you return in the evening, the lakeshore lights gradually illuminate, blending with the sunset glow for a truly immersive atmosphere. Convenient transportation enhances the experience—direct shuttle services are available from Xingyi city or the Wanfeng Forest attraction, and some travel packages even include round-trip transfers and priority boarding to skip the queues. From the grandeur of karst peaks to the elegance of alpine lakes, from the romance of European-style castles to the depth of geological wonders, the Wanfeng Lake Cruise has long transcended being just a sightseeing activity. It’s a floating geology classroom, a healing journey through nature, and a cultural bridge connecting Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. Every voyage tells the ancient and vibrant stories of this land through its emerald waves and mountain ranges.

Maling River Waterfall Group
The Malinghe Waterfall Group is located within the Malinghe Canyon Scenic Area, a national 4A-level tourist attraction and a core component of the Xingyi World Geopark, renowned for its spectacular “hanging waterfalls.”The waterfall group boasts numerous famous waterfalls, each with its own unique charm. The Wanma Benteng Waterfall has a drop of 176 meters, its powerful flow resembling a thousand troops breaking through an army, its roar echoing through the valley; the Pearl Waterfall plunges from a cliff over 200 meters high, crashing against the rock face and shattering into countless water droplets, which, under the sunlight, resemble sieveled waves. The formation of the waterfall group is attributed to a unique geological structure—the main stream cuts down rapidly, while the tributaries cut down at a slower pace, creating numerous waterfalls cascading into the deep valley. During the cascading process, calcium carbonate is deposited on the cliff walls, forming a magnificent travertine cliff, layer upon layer, creating a beautiful contrast with the cascading waterfalls. The summer high-water season is the best time to view the waterfall group; visitors can walk along the boardwalk among the water curtains, feeling the coolness and awe of the spray.

Quanhu Park is one of the 27 “city of a thousand gardens” demonstration parks in Guiyang, where you can enjoy a large-scale water curtain movie in the southwest. Up to 80 meters, the water curtain radius is 16 meters, the effect is very shocking. Cloud Tower Zen Shadow is a landmark building in the park.
